How to Build Gig-Ready Project Sets for Your EP
Your EP holds nine projects. A Project Set is a named, ordered collection of up to nine, a whole device load you can save once and reload in a single action. Here's how to capture, build and swap sets in EP-PatchStudio.
Your EP holds nine projects at a time, and that ceiling doesn't move. Project Sets work around it a different way to rotating single projects: a Set is a named, ordered collection of up to nine projects, a complete device load you can save once and drop back onto the device whenever you need it. Think of it as a preset for the whole machine.
Project Sets is a top-level tool in EP-PatchStudio (in the Library group of the sidebar) and it's part of Pro. If you've been rotating projects through the nine slots by hand, this is the tidier version: one named Set per night, loaded in one go.
Capture what's on your device
The quickest way to make your first Set is to grab what's already loaded. With your EP connected, hit Capture Device, give the Set a name, and EP-PatchStudio reads the nine slots into your library and builds a Set from them in one step. Now tonight's load is saved, named and ready to bring back any time.
Build a Set from your library
You can also assemble a Set by hand from projects already in your project library:
- Click New Set and give it a name you'll recognise on stage ("Friday headline", not
P01-P09). - Use Add projects to pull projects in from your library.
- Reorder them with the up and down arrows. The order matters: they load onto the device starting at slot P01, so put them in the running order you want.
A Set holds at most nine projects, the same as the device. If a project you added later gets deleted
from the library, the Set flags it as (missing) rather than silently dropping it, so you always know
what's changed.
Load a Set onto the device
When you want a Set on the hardware, hit Load to Device. Before it overwrites what's in the slots, EP-PatchStudio offers a safety net:
- Full device backup (recommended) takes a complete, one-click-restorable backup into your in-app backup library first. This one is on the desktop app.
- Snapshot projects to my library saves whatever is currently on the device as a new Set, so nothing you had loaded is lost.
- Skip loads straight over the top with no guard. Only reach for this if you know the current load is already saved.
Pick your safety option, confirm, and the whole Set streams onto the device in order.
Keep a copy off the device
You can Back up Set to export every project in the Set to a single .zip file on your computer.
That's handy for archiving a finished live set, or moving a loadout to another machine.
